WalkLeague — Privacy Policy

Tai Zaken (“WalkLeague”, “we”, “us”) operates the WalkLeague mobile app (the “App”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

1. Information we collect

Account information you provide: your name, email address, password (stored securely by our authentication provider — we never see your plaintext password), and any referral code you enter.

Eligibility information: your date of birth (to confirm you are 18+) and your country and, for U.S. residents, your state of residence. We use these only to determine whether you are eligible to enter cash challenges where you live; we do not use them for advertising.

Health & activity data (with your permission): with your explicit consent via Apple HealthKit, we read your step count, active energy (calories), and walking/running distance. We use this data only to run the app’s core features — scoring your daily activity, tracking your goal and streak, and ranking you in challenges.

Usage and device data: basic app interactions, and (if you enable them) a push notification token so we can send you challenge reminders.

2. How we use your information

• To operate challenges, scoring, streaks, and leaderboards.
• To create and manage your account and, if you win, to record and arrange prizes.
• To send challenge-related notifications (if you allow them).
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

3. HealthKit data — our commitments

• We do not use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing.
• We do not sell your health data, and we do not share it with third parties except as needed to operate the App or with your consent.
• You can revoke Health access anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → WalkLeague.

4. How your information is shared

• Service providers that run the App on our behalf (for example, our backend and authentication provider, Supabase, and Apple’s push notification service). They may process data only to provide their service to us.
• Prize sponsors / fulfillment: if you win a prize, we may share the minimum information needed to deliver it (and, for cash prizes, to meet tax-reporting requirements).
• Legal reasons: if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data retention & deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and associated data anytime in the App at Profile → Settings → Delete Account. You can also request deletion by emailing taizaken72@gmail.com.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us at taizaken72@gmail.com to exercise them.

7. Children

WalkLeague is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; we’ll post the new version here and update the date above. Material changes will be communicated in the App.
